Rabies monitoring in the Czech republic
MAROUSKOVÁ, Pavlína
Rabies is a serious viral disease affecting the nervous system. Rabies has not been present in the Czech Republic since 2002, but monitoring is still ongoing. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to evaluate the monitoring of rabies in our territory, the number of people bitten by a dog and to assess people's awareness of this disease through a questionnaire survey. In the monitored period 2004-2019, a total of 88,943 animals were examined for rabies. The most frequently examined species was the common fox (90 %). The smallest share (0,3 %) was formed by bats. A survey of the number of people bitten by a dog revealed that in the observed period 2010-2018, more than one million people in our territory were bitten by a dog. In total, 231 respondents took part in the questionnaire survey. Most of them (79 %) knew what rabies was, what the typical clinical symptoms were (90 %) and also that the main routes of infection were biting (99 %) or scratching (97 %) by a sick animal. Although people seem to be sufficiently aware of rabies, there is a need to raise awareness about this dangerous disease.

The subject of the dissertation deals with the secondary school pupil's awareness of zoonoses. Zoonoses are the diseases transmited from animals to human beings. Those are one of the topics of biology study currently. The main aim of the dissertation is theoretical definition of the matter in the first place. For knowledge testing have been chosen these four illness: Toxoplasmosis, Lyme boreliossis, Rabies and Creuzfeldt-Jakobo disease. With these chosen illness the main research goal is to provide a comprehensive collection of information about the details such as disease transfer, spread of the disease, disease development, cure and avoidance. The research part of the dissertation tries to find out the extent of knowledge about the chosen kinds of zoonoses among the pupils at specialized secondary schools. As a tool of quantitative research has been used a pupil's didactic test. As based on the evaluated results we may say that the pupil's knowledge at explored schools is relatively satisfactory.
Zoonózy v Peru
Gajdová, Klára
The diploma thesis deals with infectious diseases transmitted from animals to humans. These diseases have a significant impact on public health and the economy around the world, especially in less developed countries. The theoretical part defines the infectious and epidemic process of the disease, including the source of the causative agent and factors that influence the incidence and spread of diseases. The practical part analyzes the situation of the occurrence of endemic diseases occurring in Peru and compares them with the situation in neighboring states using the beta and sigma convergence methods. The results are presented by a correlation diagram. In conclusion, the situation of selected diseases is evaluated and suggestions are made to improve the epidemiological situation and recommendations to those traveling to this country, both for work and study, as well as for tourism.

The importance of carnivores in the transmission of zoonoses in Asian countries
Čermáková, Klára ; Lukešová, Daniela (advisor) ; Alica, Alica (referee)
This thesis was conducted as a literature search on the basis of available sources of scientific and technical literature were summarized data on the biology and epidemiology of selected veterinary epidemiology of zoonoses, which significantly affect the health and quality of life in Asian countries. The work also describes the prevalence of particular diseases, their clinical symptoms, diagnosis, prevention and eventual treatment. Emphasis was placed on two serious diseases-the zoonoses: rabies and echinococcosis, whose expansion in Asia is everywhere present, but less is to draw attention to their severity. Bachelor lever was divided into two parts. The first concerned the general introduction to the topic selected zoonoses and their biology. In the following part of the work focused on describing the epidemiological or epidemiological situation of the disease in individual Asian countries, the prevalence and prevention programs targeted at the suppression or eradication of these diseases in Asia.
The role of a nurse in nursing care in case of suspected rabies infection in children.
KRÁTKÁ, Iveta
Rabies used to be very dangerous for humanity. During the years the situation has much changed and rabies has been diminished a lot. Rabies is a rare ilness for the population of the Czech republic. Nowadays travelling abroad is very popular. The first aim of work is to find specifics of nursing care of a child suspected of rabies infection. The research question was chosen as that: What are the specifics of nursing care of children suspected of rabies infection? The second aim is to specify the tasks of nurse in the branch of infection disease prevention after animal biting at children. The research question is: What is the task of nurse in the branch of infection disease prevention after animal biting at children? The third aim is to find out awareness of parents concerning infection diseases after animal biting at school age children. The hypothesis was stated as that: Parents in the villages are better informed in the branch of rabies infection prevention than parents in the cities. For the processing of qualitative research part the method of questitioning and the technique of unstandardized interview with nurses working in pediatrician offices and nurses working at isolation wards was used. For processing the qualitative research part a method od questitioning and unstandardized questionnaire were used. For the hypothesis verification we used khi quadrate test. The transcribed interviews were submitted to analysis using the method od pencil and paper by open coding. Four cathegories came from the analysis of qualitative data: Experience with biting, Knowledge about rabies, Prevention, Treatment. There were subcathegories made to each cathegory, to which the acquired data are lined and shown in transparent schemes for each cathegory. The results from quantitative investigation were acquired by the method of questitioning. 154 correctly filled-in questionnaires provided data placed into data matrix and further used into nineteen transparent pie charts. The final authentication of hypothesis was processed into one pivot table which shows respondent awareness in the village and the city. The resulting diagram showing the answer evaluation of city and village respondents was made by column graph for better lucidity of result comparison. For the hypothesis verification we used khi quadrate test which found out the difference in awareness according to place of living doesn´t exist. We recommend to write a summary article about rabies problematics for the specialized magazin Pediatrie pro praxi.

Injuries caused by an animal in the pre-hospital emergency care and subsequent outpatient care
VOTRUBOVÁ, Kateřina
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the various types of injuries from animals in prehosptial emergency care and their subsequent treatment in outpatient clinics. The theoretical section includes the summary of possible predicaments, which various animals cause. It discusses anaphylactic reaction to insect stings and furthermore the poisoning by snake venom, which in the Czech Republic primarily concerns the common viper (otherwise known as the common adder). The next chapter deals with the illnesses caused by cats, specifically cat scratch disease (lymphadenopathy) and toxoplasmosis with acute childbirth. The acute condition caused by dog bites and rabies belong to the next section of the thesis. In the conclusion a brief summary of injuries is mentioned, which are a threat during the handling of domestic animals, where the thesis focuses on the polytraumatized patient, fractures and cranio-cerebral injuries. The practical section was carried out on two qualitative levels in the Central Bohemian Region in connection with the Region of the Capital City, Prague and the Southern Bohemian Region. The first of these was the verification of knowledge of paramedics about injuries caused by animals through a knowledge test, comprising of ten questions. These questionnaires were always filled in my presence. In total 40 knowledge tests were distributed, of which 38 were returned completed. The return rate was thus 95%. The second section determined the differences in outpatient care in the individual regions. It was carried out through managed interviews with outpatient medical doctors from the surgical and internal medicine departments, a traumatologist, general practitioner and paediatrician. In total, eight medical doctors were approached. Furthermore an identical questionnaire was given to all these medical doctors. The research was carried out from November 2013 to April 2014. The aim of this thesis is to ascertain the knowledge about these injuries of paramedics in the Central Bohemian Region in connection with Region of the Capital City, Prague and the Southern Bohemian Region and compare them. Furthermore, it intends to find the difference in outpatient care of patients in the same territorial units injured in this way. Three research questions were asked, specifically to the mid-level health services personnel, whether paramedics have the correct knowledge about this issue and whether their knowledge varied in the regions. Regarding the second aim, the question asked was whether outpatient care of injured patients varied in the relevant regions.
